BMW Motorrad India on Monday launched the new BMW S 1000 R, a hyper-naked motorbike. It can now be booked at any BMW Motorrad dealership across the country.

The BMW S 1000 R is fitted with a 999 cc, inline four cylinder engine that produces 170bhp at 11,000rpm and peak torque of 114Nm at 9,250rpm.
The company said that motorcycle accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.2 seconds and can achieve a top speed of 250kmph, which is electronically limited.
For sharper performance, BMW offers an optional M Endurance chain with a shorter secondary gear ratio, designed for improved acceleration while requiring minimal maintenance.

The BMW S 1000 R has a unique roadster design, with a splitface LED headlight, sharp body lines and minimalist naked-bike proportions.
In the rear, there is a shorter and cleaner license plate holder, while the brake and tail functions have been integrated into the LED turn indicators.
BMW offers three colour schemes, including Blackstorm Metallic as standard, Bluefire/Mugiallo Yellow with the Style Sport package, and the exclusive Light White Uni with M Motorsport colours available only with the M package.
The colour concepts, combined with optional elements such as a tinted sport windscreen in the Style Sport version and special M seats and wheels in the M package, further highlight its racing-inspired genes.

BMW S 1000 R comes with an extensive list of features as standard. The motorcycle comes with a 6.5-inch full-colour TFT display with smartphone connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation via the BMW Motorrad app, and a USB charging socket.
Further, rider assistance technology is comprehensive, with Headlight Pro featuring daytime running lights, a six-axis sensor suite enabling ABS Pro and dynamic traction control, engine drag torque control, hill start control, and three riding modes, including rain, road and dynamic.
For riders seeking a more customised experience, BMW offers optional equipment packages. This includes damping control, pro riding modes, gear shift assistant pro and an engine spoiler.
The comfort package provides conveniences such as keyless ride, cruise control, heated grips and tyre pressure monitoring. For maximum performance and exclusivity, the M Sport package offers a motorsport-inspired paint scheme, M Sport seat, lightweight battery, sports silencer, M Endurance chain, GPS Laptrigger, and forged or carbon wheels.
The bike weighs 199 kg in standard trim, while the M package reduces the weight to 196 kilograms. It features a seat height of 830mm, a wheelbase of 1,447mm, and a 16.5-litre fuel tank with a reserve capacity of four litres.
Aluminium cast wheels are standard, shod with 120/70 ZR 17 tyres at the front and 190/55 ZR 17 at the rear, with the option of wider 200/55 ZR 17 tyres on the M package.
BMW Motorrad India offers the S 1000 R with a three-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty, which can be extended up to five years, along with 24x7 roadside assistance across the country.
